Unfortunately, you are not alone in your trouble - the problems you described during the installation of self-leveling floors occur all the time due to a violation of the technology of using a self-leveling mixture. In your case, there is only one way out - apply a repair layer on top of the finished coating.
Self-leveling finishes for final leveling are best suited for these purposes - the so-called liquid linoleum. With their help, you can create coatings with a thickness of 1 to 20 mm. Offhand you can name several popular brands - Prospectors, Founders, Ceresit or Knauf, which with minimal effort allow you to create smooth, durable bulk floors.
Before you start pouring another layer of self-leveling mixture, the floor surface must be leveled and sanded. For this, the protruding sections of the coating are determined by a long rule and the protrusions are eliminated using a grinder. After that, the remaining part of the base of the floor is treated with an abrasive. A rough surface is needed in order to ensure reliable adhesion of the old and new coatings. During grinding work, a large amount of dust is released, which is best removed with a vacuum cleaner - wet cleaning is not recommended.
Pouring a self-leveling compound with a thin layer, do not hope that a perfectly smooth surface will turn out by itself. Rolling the mixture with a needle roller will not help here either. The best rule for smoothing the finish mixture is the same rule or a long spatula. The work must be performed not only carefully, but also quickly - the setting of a mixture of this thickness takes place within 30-40 minutes.
Finally, I would like to advise the use of stucco beacons (of course, if the thickness of the bulk floor allows). With them you can achieve perfectly even coverage with minimal time and effort.
