How to level the floor under the laminate?

Good afternoon. There are wooden floors of the second floor, krivoruky builders stained a layer of OSB and a layer of plywood, the differences are significant, in some places by a centimeter. It is necessary to trim with minimal means under the laminate. At the moment there is wallpaper on the walls and ceilings, so I don’t feel like dusting.

Good afternoon, Konstantin!

In your case, you can act differently. It would be ideal to dismantle the plywood and OSB sheets and level the rough foundation with putty. It is better to make it yourself, since it will be unprofitable to use ready-made factory mixtures. To do this, take small sawdust, which is mixed with PVA glue to the consistency of thickened sour cream and with the help of a long spatula pass all the bumps. If the area of the room is so large that the purchase of glue will be a costly waste, then sawdust can be mixed with cement mortar and the rough floor is leveled with this mixture. After this, the plywood flooring should be replaced and the laminate should be finished.

The second method does not provide for the dismantling of sheets of oriented chipboards and plywood, and consists in leveling the surface with the help of a self-leveling floor. To do this, lay a plastic film on a wooden surface and then pour the base with a pre-prepared solution. As a rule, 24 hours are enough to set the self-leveling floor, but we recommend laying the laminate only after 3-4 days - during this period the material will gain the necessary strength.
