Learned an easy way to clean the glass lid from grease, now it shines

I can’t say that I am a zealous champion of cleanliness, but I have a special attitude to the kitchen. All pots, forks, spoons, cups should be crystal clear. The hardest thing was to keep the glass lids for pots and pans in perfect condition. And there were six of them of different sizes. And all of them are bordered with a metal edging, which is necessary for fixing on the pan. Well, I didn’t want to wash off the fat, climbing under the metal rim of the lid.

Conventional dishwashing detergents did this poorly. The dishwasher also did not show a good result and could not remove dirt from under the rim of the lids. But recently I solved this problem, now my covers are shining. I even bought a special hinged shelf for them and now I’m not ashamed to keep the lids in sight. I tell you how I dealt with the dirt under the rim.

We will need the usual hydrogen peroxide from the pharmacy and baking soda. It is better to work with gloves and lay several layers of newspapers on the table or use the oven tray.

Hydrogen peroxide

Apply hydrogen peroxide under the rim all over the lid, first on one side, then on the other, being careful not to miss a single centimeter. For this, it is convenient to use a bubble with a nose. If you bought peroxide in an ordinary bottle, then, for better distribution of the product, use any brush or old toothbrush. Leave on for 20 minutes.

Baking soda

Take baking soda and distribute it, sprinkling from a spoon, around the rim on both sides. Using a brush, push the soda as deep into the gap as possible. Leave on for a few minutes, but for now, prepare small strips of cotton cloth, approximately 20x5 cm.

Cleaning

Walk with a brush in circular motions, cleaning out impurities and, at the same time, removing excess soda. Now take the knife, wrap its tip with a cloth. Insert the tip into the gap between the parts and begin to clean the dirt. Change the flap to a clean one as needed. Perform this operation from two sides. Rinse the lid in warm water with a dishwashing detergent and rub to a shine with a soft cloth.

That's all - the lid shines clean, like new.

In fact, nonsense - a knife in this application does well without peroxide and soda. No need to look for easy ways - you need to work with your hands, then maybe your head will not be needed!
