A fungus has wound up on a wooden floor, tell me how to get rid of it?

I have a problem of the following nature: mold fungus. I have a suburban country house built using Canadian technology. Bought three years ago. Everything seems to be normal, but this spring, when they moved in after the winter, I noticed that a board had rotted in one room. I tore it off to replace it, but on the wrong side I saw that there was mold. The neighboring two boards are also plaque from the inside, and tore off two more boards - everything is fine. I would like to hear practical advice on what to do in such a situation and what does it threaten with?

The wood floor is really susceptible to damage by house fungus. There are basically two reasons for its appearance:

  • High humidity.
  • Poor ventilation.

Domestic fungus develops especially rapidly if the floorboard is made of soft wood.

Types of Ceps

  1. Basement - overgrown mushrooms with white-yellow spots that turn black over time.
  2. House sponge - a white or gray fluffy film that grows tens of meters.
  3. Porcini mushroom is a cotton-like mycelium forming a porous pillow.

Any domestic fungus is extremely dangerous for human health. It is very good that you paid attention to this rotten board. Indeed, wood under the influence of mushrooms darkens, cracks and loses strength. And then the natural material rots, and the board is subject to rejection, as in your case.

How to deal with misfortune?

The best fight is prevention. But, as for your case, here you did the right thing to remove the damaged boards. This needs to be done in relation to those that, in your opinion, will not be restored in any case. If individual floorboards are only slightly affected by a domestic fungus, then the mold is scraped and burned, and the lesion sites and healthy areas are carefully treated with copper sulfate. The solution is prepared at the rate of 50 g of powder per liter of water. For drawing it is better to use a spray. Processing should be carried out at least twice with a break of one month. For greater effectiveness, clay may be added to the above composition. The resulting paste-like mixture is applied to the boards, and when everything dries well, lay the coating.
