How to drill a hole and not get dirty with dust: 3 useful tips

Nobody likes dirt in their clean and comfortable housing, not to mention the fact that building dust affects the condition of the skin, causes irritation to the eyes and respiratory organs. Consider several ways to drill a hole in the wall and not dirty everything, while taking care of the health of your loved ones.

Stationery sticker

The easiest way to reduce the appearance of dust on the floor is to put a stationery sticker under the drill on the floor or fasten it with an adhesive edge to the wall. After finishing work, it just remains to roll up and throw the sticker into the bin.

But there is one minus: building dust flies not only down, but also to the sides, so when using the sticker, prepare a vacuum cleaner and a wet rag to remove residual dirt that scattered around the room.

Paper cup

A more reliable way to protect against dust is a regular paper cup.

To do this, with any improvised tool that matches the diameter of the drill, make a hole in the bottom of the cup, attach it to the drill and start drilling.

When working, it is necessary to take into account the material from which the cup is made, since under strong pressure during drilling it will simply be compressed.

The bottom of the plastic bottle

The manufacture of the next fixture is more time-consuming and requires little preparation.

With a clerical knife or scissors, cut the bottom from the plastic bottle, make a hole in the middle of the bottom and pass the drill through it from the outside.

It is important to take into account that the distance from the bottom of the bottle to the cut line is no more than the length of the drill inserted into the drill chuck, since during operation it simply will not enter the wall.

The above methods of protection against dust are the most common, not requiring material costs and special skills in their application, but they can simplify our lives, take care of the health of our family members and turn a small repair into a pleasure.
