Flowers that will grow in the bathroom - where it is wet and there are no windows

Landscaping of living space is able to give originality and coziness to any interior. The bathroom is no exception. But in most bathrooms there are no windows and high humidity, which is not suitable for all plants. However, there are unpretentious home flowers that can grow well under artificial lighting and like moist air.

Philodendron

This plant has wide massive leaves on long stems, and it will undoubtedly decorate the bathroom. Philodendron loves diffused light, high humidity and relative coolness (about 15-20 degrees).

This flower needs abundant watering and irrigation of foliage. Due to the severity of the leaves, the stem of the plant may break off, therefore, as the philodendron grows, the installation of a decorative support in the pot will be the best solution.

Nephrolepis

The second, more familiar name for this plant is fern. This flower is unpretentious and has a very spectacular decorative appearance due to the thick long leaves. A few simple conditions are enough to make the plant comfortable - a roomy pot, diffused lighting and loose, moist, well-drained soil.

Too high temperature and dry air ruins the nephrolepis, so the bath is ideal for growing this beautiful flower.

Aspidistra

This plant belongs to the evergreen herbs of the asparagus family. The second name of the aspidistra is “snake grass”, due to the exotic appearance of leaves that do not have stems and resemble snakes.

Aspidistra loves shade and is very unpretentious, can grow perfectly at a temperature of 10-12 degrees. It is enough to periodically water it, avoiding the drying up of an earthen coma.

Aglaonema

This flower has spreading wide leaves, which differ in an unusual color: veins can be painted in a palette from red to light yellow, which is its great feature.

Aglaonema loves loose moist soil and grows well in partial shade, so the bathroom is perfect for growing it.

Ivy

This ampule plant will look great in hanging pots and planters. Ivy has very beautiful leaves with bright veins, reminiscent of maple trees, which grow quite densely on long flexible stems.

Ivy is shade tolerant, loves moisture and periodic padding with universal fertilizers.

Begonia

Begonia has a beautiful decorative appearance due to its fleshy, juicy reddish leaves in a bright speck. For comfortable plant growth, he needs a fertilizer-rich, drained soil that needs to be moistened as the earthen coma dries.

Begonia is great for humid air, but direct contact with water on leaves and tubers can cause decay, so watering should be done very carefully and it is preferable to pour water into the pan of the pot.

Chlorophytum

This beautiful unpretentious plant will decorate any room, but it will be most comfortable for him in the moist and shady atmosphere of the bathroom. Chlorophytum is famous as a wonderful filter for polluted air. Prefers loose, drained soil.

Sansevieria

Sansevieria is very common in Russian homes and is also called "Mother-in-law's tongue" or "Pike tail". Long, hard leaves of the plant have a pleasant dark green color with transverse light stripes, which resembles pike fins.

The plant is suitable for lazy hosts, because it requires infrequent watering, is undemanding to the quality of the soil in the pot and grows both in the shade and in moderate light.

Selaginella

This groundcover has very beautiful carved leaflets resembling lace. Selaginella is bushy and is often shaped like a ball, which looks very impressive in the interior. The plant is unpretentious, feels good in the shade and loves frequent spraying of leaves and abundant watering. The soil in the pot should be loose.
