6 major interior mistakes that make an apartment sloppy

If you constantly restore order and impeccable cleanliness at home, but, despite this, you do not leave a sense of untidiness of your own home, it may not be a matter of cleaning quality, but of improper interior decoration.

Not all items in the house have a specific place.

Each thing should have its own place. We have known this rule since childhood, but for some reason we forget about it in our own apartment. It has been noticed and proved more than once: if a thing does not have its place, then at the very moment when it is most needed, it will be difficult to find it. This applies to small, but very necessary items: keys to an apartment or car, a remote control for a TV, a charger for a telephone, and more. To prevent such situations, organize storage systems: for example, purchase a stylish key holder for keys, the remote control can be stored in a special holder near the sofa in the living room, etc. In addition, the things lying around create a mess in the apartment, so putting everything in its place will solve the problem of confusion.

Everything is stored in open systems

In recent years, open storage systems have become increasingly popular. In the conditions of small-sized standard apartments, they give a feeling of space and freedom, in contrast to the massive shelves with open doors. But in order for such open systems to be a stylish and functional acquisition, they must fit into the interior design, there should not be too many of them and the ideal order should be maintained on them. Otherwise, you will receive a cluttered room in which things are randomly stored for all to see.

Too much decor on the walls

In an attempt to follow fashion trends, we make the main mistake - over-decorate the walls. Most often, we look at such ideas in the stars or in the picture of a magazine, but do not take into account the most important thing: what looks beautiful in a large room does not fit into small-sized apartments. For example, decorating one of the walls with posters or a collage of photos, we “steal” a precious place by the room and overload the interior with unnecessary details. So if you do not know how to decorate a wall in a room, it is better to leave it free.

Too many mirror surfaces

The abundance of unnecessary things and a variety of decor in the interior or, as designers call it, visual noise can be amplified when there are a large number of mirrors and glossy surfaces in the room. Reflecting in the mirror of a sliding wardrobe or from the surface of the table, a wall with a bright pattern adds unnecessary motley and sloppiness to the interior.

Wrong combination of patterns in the interior

The reason for the scruffy interior may be the presence in the room of a large number of various patterns on the curtains, furniture or carpet that do not fit together. But uniform patterns will not improve the situation - in this case, the entire interior will be a bright mottled spot.

Poorly composed composition

Sometimes, even with the proper design of all the details of the interior, it still looks untidy. This can occur if the room contains absolutely inappropriate objects or you are too carried away by minimalism (you will agree that a half-empty bookcase or shelves look ugly and inappropriate). Also not very good if there are too many objects in the room.In order not to superfluous, follow the design "rule of three": the arrangement of pieces of furniture or decor, combining in groups of 3 items (for example, 2 armchairs and a coffee table).

Also, try not to overload the interior with objects of the same type, which merge into one spot. Dilute them with objects that differ in color or size, but at the same time combined with each other.
