Good afternoon, dear masters! My question may be simple, but extremely relevant for me. I can’t solve a simple question: how to fix the baseboard? Almost finished the repair in the living room, it remains to lay a parquet board. The coating itself was bought earlier, but the skirting boards were made to order from wood. They are combined with windows (also new), doors (natural wood) and a chic handmade carved table. The master, who made me all the wooden products, went on a long business trip, and before leaving, he told me how to lay a board and skirting boards. I quickly figured out the flooring, but he told me to mount the baseboard on “liquid nails”, and I doubted something. My question is: is it possible to mount wooden skirting boards on liquid nails?
Hello! It is strange that you doubt this method of fixing skirting boards. It has long been tested and approved by practical experience. Moreover, it can be safely called the most common, because it is very simple to execute.
What is needed for mounting the baseboard?

- Saw face.
- Measuring tape.
- A small hammer.
- "Liquid Nails.
- Gun for applying "liquid nails."
Fastening technology
- Work should begin from an angle, while the edges of adjacent elements must be trimmed - an angle of 45 degrees.
- The reverse side of the baseboard is covered with “liquid nails” and the plank is attached to the wall. Joints must be carefully connected.
- It is allowed to use heavy objects in order to properly press down the decorative strip, which will contribute to its most reliable fastening.
Very important! All the described procedure should be started only if there is a firm belief in the absolute evenness of the working surfaces. Otherwise, the desired fit will not be achieved.
If there are certain problems with the quality of walls and floors, then it is worth considering other ways to fix the skirting boards. But for this you will need additional tools and fixing elements.
