Hello! I want to put a carpet on the living room and bedrooms, but so far I doubt it. On the one hand, such a floor is very beautiful, and on the other, I still can’t exactly understand how to look after it later. There are a lot of tips for cleaning the carpet on the net, sometimes they even contradict a friend. I would like to know if it is really possible to clean the carpet with high quality at home?
The carpet is really one of the best materials for creating comfort in the house. But to make him always presentable, he needs special care. In fact, there are three real ways to clean carpet.
Method 1 - a washing vacuum cleaner
With it, you can very quickly clean carpet flooring. For this, a special detergent is whipped with a brush and the surface is thoroughly vacuum cleaned. In this case, special attention is paid to places where there is severe pollution. Usually these are doorways and areas of heavy traffic. Here you need to go with a vacuum cleaner several times and preferably crosswise.
Important! You should not abuse such cleaning technology. This procedure can be performed no more than once a week.
Method 2 - Manual Cleaning
Nothing new - take a detergent and a soft brush. And then the cleaning efficiency depends on your efforts and efforts. This is the most common option for removing dirt from the carpet, however, due to many features:
- not all types of carpet can be wet cleaned;
- if the coating is on an adhesive basis, it cannot be wetted;
- The natural base may become deformed after wet cleaning.
Method 3 - Dry Cleaning
Here, to accomplish the task, a special powder is needed. It is applied evenly over the entire surface of the carpet, while gently rubbing into the pile. In this state, the coating is left for a couple of hours, and then thoroughly vacuumed. Basically, that’s all the work.

- Removing stains from alcoholic beverages: moisten with cold water, apply a mild detergent, and then wine vinegar. Vacuum after this.
- Removing wax or chewing gum: freeze the place of contamination (cover with pieces of ice), scrape off with a knife.
- Removing glue, chocolate, ketchup, milk or mayonnaise: first treat with detergent, then ammonia, then with detergent and rinse with water.
