Are there any contraindications for pouring concrete floor in the garage?
Thought to build a garage. I have already drafted and calculated everything, but I just can’t decide in any way which floor to make there. In principle, I do not want to reinvent the wheel and tend to fill in the usual concrete floor, but one friend says that such an option for a garage is not always good. He could not explain clearly what the problem was, but I thought. Tell me, are there any circumstances in which it is impossible to fill a concrete floor in a garage?
Limitations really exist
Indeed, there are some factors, the presence of which does not allow to produce a traditional concrete floor in the garage:
- the plot intended for the construction of the garage has too large a slope;
- there is a real threat of periodic flooding of the site;
- high groundwater table.
In principle, that's all! All other features cannot be an obstacle to the production of concrete floors in the garage. Moreover, it is the most profitable option in all respects.
Design Option! A layer of gravel and sand flooded with concrete. It will be a rough floor. After this layer dries, the waterproofing is installed, then the insulation is laid (mineral wool or expanded polystyrene can be used). If there is no need for floor insulation, then the heat insulator is replaced with cement milk. The final stage is the implementation of a fine reinforced screed.
Why is concrete floor so good for a garage?
- Resistance to all chemicals: oils, gasoline, acids, solvents, etc.
- High strength characteristics - withstands various mechanical loads, impacts and other influences.
- Resistance to sudden changes in temperature.
- Fire safety.
