7 "bells and whistles" in home appliances, for which it is not necessary to overpay

Modern household appliances do not cease to amaze with new features with which the user is sometimes not so easy to understand. But not all of these options are needed in everyday life, and many of them can be completely abandoned, decently saving on the purchase of a device.

Vacuum cleaner with ultraviolet lamp

When choosing a vacuum cleaner, most buyers pay attention to suction power, dimensions, cord length, number of nozzles. All this plays a significant role in the operation of such equipment. But the additional equipment of the vacuum cleaner with an ultraviolet lamp cannot be attributed to particularly useful functions. To destroy microbes, a long exposure to ultraviolet rays (20-30 seconds in one area) is required, which is difficult to ensure during cleaning. Accordingly, an overpayment for such equipment will not be justified.

Vacuum cleaner with antibacterial container coating

Having an antibacterial coating on a dust container is nothing more than a marketing ploy. Firstly, there is no need for such a coating inside the vacuum cleaner, and secondly, the effectiveness in using antibacterial coatings in the production of any household appliances has not been proven. There are no convincing arguments in favor of such technologies, which means that it makes no sense to overpay for invented additional functions.

Air ionizing refrigerator

Modern models of refrigerators are more expensive than their predecessors due to the presence of additional functions in them, one of which is air ionization. Manufacturers claim that thanks to this feature, products stay fresh longer, as the ozone produced by ionization helps kill bacteria and mold. There is no reliable confirmation of the effectiveness of ionization. Moreover, in order to destroy bacteria, ozone is required in large quantities, and in the production of household appliances such an effect cannot be allowed due to harm to health.

Fridge with ice maker

The price tag on models of refrigerators that are equipped with ice generators is much higher. The need for ice cubes arises far from every day, so you should not overpay for such a function. Even lovers of cold drinks will be able to easily do with the usual molds for ice, which do not take up much space in the freezer and do their job perfectly.

Multi-program washing machine

The newer the model of the washing machine, the more programs it launches. For almost every type of laundry in the machine there is a separate mode. But in fact, it is enough that the control panel has access to the temperature and spin speed settings at the start of washing, since it is on these parameters that all programs are based. Only two buttons will allow you to manually adjust the desired washing mode.

Washing machine with automatic detergent dispensing

The recommended dosage of detergent for a certain amount of laundry is indicated on the packaging of any powder, gel or rinse aid. It will not be difficult to manually measure the required amount of detergent and load it into the container of the washing machine before washing. The automatic dosing option increases the cost of technology, while the function may not work correctly, thereby also increasing the cost of buying laundry detergent.

Remote control dishwasher from smartphone

Home appliance manufacturers are trying to add the remote control function to almost any device. In the case of a dishwasher, this option does not make much sense, so you should not overpay for it. It is much more important that the dishwasher has a quick wash mode. Such a program will be much more useful than controlling the dishwashing process from a smartphone.

Modern household appliances help to cope with household chores, but not all newfangled functions are as useful in everyday life as manufacturers advertise them. Often the price of devices with additional options is unreasonably high, which should be considered when buying.
