How to choose a carpet - pay attention to the material of manufacture
Carpet is an ancient covering used for insulation and decorative decoration of floors and walls in residential premises. It was popular many centuries ago and has not been forgotten to this day. The only thing that in ancient times, chic handmade carpets could afford only noble rich people. In the modern world, manual knitting of carpets has been replaced by a machine, and the spread of artificial materials has led to cheaper carpet production. Therefore, today anyone can buy a carpet, regardless of their financial situation.
If you decide that the carpet is what your interior lacks, you will need to decide what material your future flooring will be made of. The quality of the product, its characteristics, durability and, of course, cost will depend on this.
Woolen carpet - high quality natural material
Wool carpets are a classic, and usually expensive. Traditionally, woolen carpets are made from pleasant to the touch, warm and durable sheep wool. The elastic pile of such carpets is characterized by fire-fighting properties, so when burning it does not contribute to the spread of fire. A carpet of wool always looks noble and expensive, and the term of its active use is approaching 40-50 years!
The disadvantages of woolen carpets include their rapid pollution, requiring frequent cleaning, exposure to moths and mold. However, modern manufacturers have long learned to compensate for these natural imperfections of wool by impregnating the fibers with special dirt-repellent, antifungal, and anti-milling substances.
Woolen fibers absorb dyes worse than synthetic analogues, so their color is calmer. However, it practically does not fade, therefore, after 10 years, the colors on the woolen carpet will remain bright, and on the synthetic one they will fade after a couple of years.
Woolen carpets are an excellent choice for any room in the room, from the living room to the children's room or bedroom.
Silk carpet - shine and luxury in one bottle
Another natural material that carpet can be made of is silk. Silk carpets are even more expensive than woolen carpets, but their properties more than compensate for the funds spent on them. Firstly, these coatings are incredibly durable, and secondly - they are very beautiful due to the unique brilliance of the pile.
Flexible and durable silk thread, due to its subtlety, allows you to get a detailed study of the carpet pattern. Therefore, in their beauty, silk carpets can compete with the paintings of great masters - these are real works of art.
Rayon - Rayon Carpet
Viscose is an artificial fiber obtained, oddly enough, from a natural material - cellulose. Therefore, viscose carpets, although considered artificial, are inherently a very good natural substitute for natural materials. By the way, viscose in its appearance is very similar to silk, which is why it is sometimes called “artificial silk”.
Viscose threads are easily dyed, so you can create very bright and colorful coatings with a slight sheen from them that retain their original color for a long time.Viscose carpets are durable, they do not wrinkle and are not wiped, which allows them to be used in rooms where there are a lot of people, for example, in corridors.
Carpet made of polyamide (nylon) - bright synthetics
Polyamide is a common synthetic material from which modern carpets are often made. Vivid patterns, strength, resilience, good fire-fighting properties - all this relates to synthetic coatings made of nylon. Another advantage is the unusual shine of its fibers - this explains the extraordinary decorativeness and popularity of carpets and carpets made of polyamide.
Polypropylene carpet - undemanding and short-lived
Polypropylene carpets are one of the most undemanding in care. This is due to the fact that the polypropylene thread is absolutely smooth, not letting dirt and dust into its structure. Therefore, cleaning such a carpet is not difficult - just walk with a vacuum cleaner on the surface and it will shine with cleanliness. Polypropylene carpets are very bright and beautiful, however, unfortunately, they are absolutely not durable and their age is short - 4-5 years maximum. After this period, they lose their beauty and do not look too presentable.
Carpet made of polyester (polyester) - soft replacement wool
The polyester carpet is very similar to woolen, not only with its appearance, but also with a special pleasant softness and durability. Such a carpet, especially with a long luxurious pile, looks chic and can be used for any room where the beauty of the flooring and its thermal characteristics are important. For example, in the living room, such a carpet will delight all guests and, in fact, will become the visual center of the room, and in the nursery, it will warm the feet of the playing children. It is worth mentioning that the polyester is quite resistant to dirt and any non-greasy stains can be easily removed from it, which will be a definite plus when placing the carpet in the nursery.
The disadvantages of a polyester carpet are the accumulation of static electricity and poor restoration of shape under any deformation.
These carpets can be so different. But this is wonderful - such a huge choice. And what it will be, as always, depends only on you!
