Artistic Parquet: Review of Performing Styles and Drawing
Parquet floors are popular today just like a few centuries ago. And is this news? Not at all. After all, parquet is a joy for the eye and for the wallet (although the understanding of the latter, as a rule, does not come immediately) - it is beautiful, stylish, and durable. And the art flooring is also amazing. No other flooring can create in your house such a vivid feeling of palace chambers and true majesty and grace. Parquet is called artistic. It has a complex unique pattern consisting of planks of various shapes and wood species. It is so charming that all kinds of carpets become not only unnecessary, but also frankly superfluous. Nothing should interfere with the contemplation of intricately elegant patterns.
How to make art parquet?
For the production of a unique parquet coating, alder, maple, cherry, birch, elm, apple tree, oak, etc., as well as a variety of "exotic" are used. The buyer is presented with a truly wide range of colors and textures.
In the old days, elements of art parquet were made by hand. Today, parts are made thanks to computer design, and the main assistants to the masters in this difficult matter are lasers and other cutting-edge mechanical equipment. Thanks to this, the products are obtained with high precision in terms of geometry.
Performance Styles and Patterning
Art parquet can be made in many styles - from classicism to modern. Classicism is associated with straight lines and strict geometric balance. Art Nouveau parquet, on the contrary, is characterized by smooth, curved lines in all directions.
To create a unique picture using several technologies. There are such ways of drawing:
- intrasia - when a picture is inserted at a specific predetermined depth;
- marquetry - involves the introduction of drawing elements to the depth of the entire coating. Most of the art flooring is made using this method;
- a graffiti - at the present time it is practically not used, since the foundations of this method have been lost since ancient times;
- inlay - this method allows you to use for decoration such "alien" components, such as metal or amber, onyx or jade.
Popular types of ornament
The choice of design (image) is quite a difficult task for parquet. Let us dwell on the most common elements that contribute to the transformation of the parquet floor into a real work of art.
Option # 1 - borders
The border is capable of performing several functions at once. With its help, the room is successfully and elegantly divided into functional zones. The border can help to comply with the boundaries of patterns of different nature formed during the laying process. This element transforms even the most inexpressive surface.
In the vast majority of cases, the border element pattern is an ornament. Moreover, it is not necessarily strictly geometric. Floral motifs and animal silhouettes can be used here.
The border can be used both independently and in a duet with a socket. In any case, he will be able to most advantageously emphasize the main drawing and subtly and skillfully smooth out all the disadvantages of the implicit layout in the room.
Indeed, the main role assigned to the fragment is the completion of parquet compositions, filling them with integrity.
Option # 2 - sockets
This is the most common element of the artistic parquet floor. They have an oval or round shape. Outlets are usually located in the center of the room, although there may be exceptions when they make it a key element of any zone.
The drawing of the outlet is always interesting and attractive: it can be either symmetrical or arbitrarily artistic. As for the latter, it requires from the master stacker serious skills and rich practical experience in working with artistic parquet.
The boundaries of the outlets can be visually clear or indefinite - say, in the form of multidirectional branches.
Such elements have absolutely no maximum limitation in size. You can stop the "growth" of the outlet only with the area of the room to be finished. The minimum size is determined by the concepts of aesthetics. Through a small outlet does not carry any presentable load.
In the manufacture of these elements must use several types of wood - usually from two to ten. The socket can include unusually complex “jewelry” elements, respectively, for art parquet decorated in this way, the prices are quite high.
Option # 3 - modules
Modular parquet is a composition composed of wood dies of one or several species that are glued to each other along the perimeter. The modules are square; The elements made as part of a single design idea are identical in design. Due to this, the general appearance of the coating after installation is statuesque and graceful. Such art parquet, as a rule, embodies a certain geometric pattern.
Interesting! The intra-module drawing may also be asymmetric: the features of a single “creative setting” will be drawn as the installation work progresses.
Laying art parquet from modules takes much less time than piecework. This is the main advantage of the data considered by us, the elements of the parquet floor.
