What varnish is suitable for coating a polymer floor in a car workshop?
Good afternoon. I am interested in information on polyurethane coating. This is the floor I want to do in my car repair shop - I am opening my own business. I bought three consecutive garages in a former firehouse. Now I want to equip them for car repair work. These premises have long been empty and require major repairs. Naturally, I understand that special attention needs to be paid to sex. I want to make a bulk floor (we will work together with my brother), in principle, the technology is understandable, but I do not know how to cover the polyurethane surface from above to protect it. Nevertheless, the floor must withstand large loads of a different nature. Can you voice a specific brand of paint, varnish or primer (I'm not a specialist, I don’t know exactly what is needed) for application on a polymer floor?
Your request is clear. In your situation, we would recommend using the one-component polyurethane LAC ADV-46. It is excellent for application to metal, wood, concrete and polymer substrates. This tool provides floors:
- wear resistance;
- resistance to abrasion;
- anticorrosive protection;
- inertness to the effects of acid and alkaline solutions;
- inertness to the spill of petroleum products.
After applying ADV-46 varnish, the polymer coating (or any other basis) is assigned the fire hazard class KM2 according to certificate C-RU. ПБ34.В.00476 / 10.02.2011.
In other words, such a floor will be fireproof. The varnish has the appearance of a brown liquid, no foreign matter is detected. After hardening, a glossy yellowish film appears on the surface of the bulk floor.
The approximate consumption of varnish is 60-120 g per square. m
