What are the ways to raise the floor in the hallway?

We have an old house. The corridor partially removed the wooden floor. The distance between the surface and the concrete base is only 10 cm. We want to raise the floor level. I would like to hear professional advice on solving this problem.

In fact, there are several ways to implement your plans, at least four:

Option number 1

Wooden logs are used, which are stacked at a distance of 4 ° mm from each other. The space between them is filled with mineral wool, and on top of such a structure, for example, plywood with a thickness of 15 mm or more is laid. It should not be missed that under a layer of mineral wool, and a film of 200 microns is laid over it. Spacers or specially prepared wooden wedges are placed under the logs to align them. To make such a gender is not difficult either in terms of physical effort or in terms of financial investments. This floor will not be a heavy load on the building structure. However, we draw your attention to the fact that this method of flooring does not imply the use of tiles as the final floor layer.

Option number 2

The device of a cement screed on expanded clay backfill. An even layer of expanded clay is poured onto the concrete base. A reinforcing mesh is placed on top of it, as well as mortar or metal beacons. On top of this design is a screed. Since you plan to work in the corridor, the beacons must be placed along the wall, and the screed must be filled in two stages: first along the walls, and then in the middle.

Option number 3

The most budgetary, but the dirtiest and longest way to raise the floor. It is a classic cement screed. After pouring, it should completely dry and stabilize. And it will take time. On this basis, you can lay tiles. And besides, there are no restrictions in the final floor coverings, it will be appropriate here:

  • linoleum;
  • parquet;
  • laminate flooring, etc.

Option number 4

The device of the super floor Knauf. A polyethylene film is laid on a concrete base, over which a layer of expanded clay sand is poured, the size of the fraction is up to 5 mm. It is aligned on the bars, and Knauf Superpol plates are mounted on top. Joints must be treated with PVA glue and screwed with self-tapping screws. This method is the cleanest and fastest, but also the most expensive.
