How to prepare the floor in the corridor for tile installation

How to lay tiles in the corridor on an uneven floor? We decided to make a cement screed to level the surface. Is it possible to make a screed 3 cm thick? What is the best way to lay tiles?

Ceramic tile Edmond / Edmond 32.6x32.6, Cersanit (Ukraine).

The idea to level the concrete base of the floor before laying ceramic tiles is the right and timely solution. Unlike some “masters” who claim that, they say, tiles can be laid on a layer of glue of various thicknesses and thereby achieve a smooth surface, you will get the opportunity to perform laying as quickly as possible and at the same time save expensive supplies.

Styling should start from the right edge - so we are arranged that we pay more attention to this side. If furniture or other interior items are installed in the corridor, then trimmed tiles should be located under them. According to the designers, it is enough to put one or two tall vases on the floor, for which the eye will cling, and no one will suspect a violation of symmetry. In your case, the room is not very long, so you don’t really need to worry about the curvature of the extreme tile seam - you can notice it only when you carefully examine it.

As for the screed, then 3 cm will be enough to equip a solid, reliable foundation. By the way, a small thickness plays into your hands - no need to perform reinforcement.
