Are there cheap and effective ways to eliminate the creak of parquet?

Good afternoon. I want to hear qualified advice on repairing parquet. I live alone. In the apartment a long time ago (about 20 years ago) was laid parquet. In principle, it was preserved in a very presentable form, but recently it began to creak in some places. Tell me, please, are there simple but effective methods for resolving this problem. I already invited the master-SUV for a consultation, so he told me such a price for repairs that I simply could not pay that amount. I am interested in the question: can I do something on my own?

In principle, nothing is impossible? If you do not have such critical deformations of parquet elements that can be eliminated only by a full replacement, then you can try to correct the situation with less radical methods. It is very important to accurately determine the source of the creak and the reasons for its appearance. You yourself can solve the problem if, for example, the flooring began to creak because in some areas it was peeled off from the base.

Suppose you have precisely identified a problem spot. Now you need to make 2-3 mm holes in the parquet. It is there that a syringe with glue will be inserted, which is squeezed out under the parquet. Then you need to put something heavy on this place and let it dry. Probably, at this stage, your independent repair activities will be completed. Other methods involve the use of hand and power tools. But, even if you invite a master, you must understand the meaning of his work. So, the most common ways to eliminate the creak of parquet:

  • If individual parquet planks laid on a plywood base creak, then they can be fixed with special studs for parquet using a pneumatic gun.
  • Remove the problematic strip, lay the cardboard in the cavity, and then attach it in place - put on glue or nail with nails.
  • Drill a hole between the creaking plates at an angle of 450into which to drive a wooden pin, and previously lowered into the carpentry glue. Making this pin yourself is also not a big deal.
