Is it possible to make floors on the ground at the cottage if there are no funds for another design?

Hello! I’m building a small cottage, I plan the installation of floors on the ground. For another design, there is simply not enough money. Friends and acquaintances advise not to rush, but to save money and make a more serious sex, but it’s already the month of June, and my household tortured me with questions when they can spend time in the country. Since in the near future I will not expect serious financial revenues, I still tend to my version of the device of the floors. I want to ask you: what difficulties will I encounter during the work? I need to really appreciate my own strength. Can really wait another year, collect the required amount and invite experts?

Hello! If you are interested in exactly the negative aspects of this method of creating floors, then first of all pay attention to such circumstances:

  • Colossal labor costs.
  • Such a design cannot be arranged on unstable, loose and sandy soils.
  • Great price for laying services - if you invite experts to help.
  • It is very difficult to find clean sand and soil that will satisfy all the requirements when installing floors on the ground.
  • There is a high risk of mold and other negative processes when the floor comes in contact with the ground.
  • Even when installing heat-insulating material, heat loss can be up to 20%.
  • The temperature difference on the floor surface and under the ceiling can be around 7%, which is unacceptable for residential premises.
  • As a heater, only that material can be used that will add up to several decades. Its shape must be stable and not prone to deformation.
  • Such a floor will not allow any communications to be hidden under the floor.
  • The absence of a basement or basement negatively affects the strength characteristics of the entire building. It is also worth noting the problems with heating efficiency and the longevity of finishing materials.

Very important! We do not recommend the installation of flooring on the ground floors of residential buildings.

This option will be optimal when arranging utility rooms, garages, sheds, etc. But, if you still prefer this particular design, we advise you to adhere to certain technological features. For more details, see the introductory video clip.
