Is it possible to do a floor screed over the ground?

The base of the floor is earth. Is it possible to make a screed by putting a film?

Hello Sergey!
It is possible to equip a screed on the earthen floor only when your house is not in danger of flooding - groundwater should lie at least at a depth of 4-5 meters. In addition, consider the frequency of heating - there have been cases when freezing of a concrete base caused damage to the screed made in a similar way. Be sure to find out these questions - perhaps a wooden floor in your case will be a more reliable option.
Concrete work is started only after the completion of roofing. The technology allows you to cope with the construction of floors yourself. The “pie” of the floor in the simplest version must necessarily consist of a sand cushion, a layer of waterproofing, a rough concrete floor, and, in fact, screed. If everything is done “according to science”, then on top of the sand it will also be necessary to equip a rubble or gravel pillow, and the concrete and cement-sand layers should also be separated by a plastic film or roofing material.
Concreting is performed in the traditional way, with 4 mm reinforcement with a building mesh and laying of damping tape around the perimeter of the floor. If its area exceeds 20 square meters. m, then to prevent thermal deformations, concrete is cut into sectors using a diamond wheel. After that, the gaps are filled with any liquid sealant (for example, Bostik).
If such a floor will be used in a living room, we recommend immediately laying the floor heating in the screed - later on you will remember our advice more than once with a kind word. If it is not possible to equip floor heating, then replace the concrete base with plates of extruded polystyrene foam with a density of 50 units or more. This material has high hardness, does not absorb moisture and is one of the best heat insulators - with it the floor in the house will be much more comfortable.
