What to choose for a bedroom - natural linoleum or synthetic?
I make repairs in the bedroom. Turn came to the floor. In principle, I’m not going to invent anything, but on the wooden floor, after leveling with plywood I want to lay linoleum. Naturally, I will not do the work myself, but I will attract specialists, such were found among my friends. To a logical question about which linoleum is best to choose, both specialists answered that it was natural. I somehow always thought that this coating can not be attributed to natural materials.
Yes, indeed in the modern market there is a huge amount of linoleum of different quality and cost. But there is a gradation of this floor covering, including from the point of view of environmental friendliness.
Natural linoleum
This is a floor material, the component composition of which includes natural ingredients:
- Flaxseed oil - prevents the formation and reproduction of harmful microorganisms.
- Wood or cork flour.
- Jute fabric.
- Resin.
Important! Natural linoleum is a bactericidal coating.
When staining such a material, only natural dyes are used. It has excellent performance characteristics, it is warmer than the synthetic analogue, durable (designed for 40 years of use, with proper care using special mastic), and also does not support combustion.
And finally, natural linoleum is an ideal floor covering when installing a warm floor system. This refers to the electric model.
Important! Linoleum made from natural materials is fragile. Its transportation and installation must be carried out with extreme caution.
Synthetic linoleum
Synthetic linoleum flooring can also be installed in the bedroom. But here you have to choose desired type depending on its basis:

- tissue;
- heat insulating.
