Which laminate to choose for a dance studio

Good afternoon! I would like to choose a laminate for a dance studio with maximum cushioning (under which it is possible to lay the thickest backing?).

Hello, Yuri.

In the dance hall, it is best to use a laminate of class 32-34 (the higher the mark, the better) with a non-slip, embossed surface. Due to the high hardness of the outer layer, the material has high strength and maximum wear resistance. In your case, cork boards should be taken as a substrate. By the way, it seems that you greatly exaggerate the cushioning function of the lining layer and do not take into account the characteristics of the material you want to use.

The fact is that the figured latches of the laminate panels are not designed to work under conditions of variable loads. In other words, the harder the coating will lie on the floor, the longer the castle connection of the boards of which it consists will last. For this reason, when laying a low-grade laminate, it is not recommended to use a thick substrate. If you take into account that the coating will be used as a dance floor, then the maximum you can count on is 3 mm, and then subject to the use of a high-quality coating with locks reinforced with polyester resins.

Of course, the final choice is still yours, and, nevertheless, I still want to recommend more suitable material for the dance hall. For example, a two-layer PVC tile with a reinforced fiberglass base or a special laminate for sports facilities. Of course, the laying of such material requires better preparation of the rough floor, however, having completed the installation once, for many years you will forget what repair is.
