Good afternoon! Need professional advice. On the ground floor of the house I plan to lay out the "warm floor" system. Actually, I have almost already acquired the necessary materials and components of the system itself, somewhere around 80%. Now you need to decide how to arrange the floor itself. I am advised to first put a layer of gas blocks, on them to perform the installation of pipelines of a warm water floor. Pour all this with a screed, and use ceramic tiles as a floor covering. Is such a floor heating design possible?

Hello, we would not recommend a similar floor cake model with a “warm floor” system. Aerated concrete is intended for building thermal insulation. That is how manufacturers position it.

Based on these of its features, this material will not be a heat accumulator, to the extent that it is necessary for this floor design. In other words, the very essence of a warm floor is leveled out.

  • The base is cleaned of debris.
  • A layer of leveling screed is applied.
  • A layer of thermal insulation material is laid. Polystyrene is great.
  • According to a pre-designed scheme, the installation of the pipeline and the mixing unit is carried out.
  • The system is being tested.
  • The arranged structure is poured with a concrete screed. Before this, beacons are pre-set.
  • When the screed has dried completely, the ceramic tile is laid.

In conclusion, I want to add another recommendation regarding the implementation of the screed itself. In the manufacture of the solution, it is necessary to use special additives that will contribute to the "elasticity" of the warm floor. That is, when the temperature regime changes, the structure will not crack.

      I do not know the date of the question and answer, but I am amazed at the incompetence of the person who answers the question. Instead of expanded polystyrene, aerated concrete of low density D 200. Everything is the same. Less is more expensive. Plus - environmentally friendly.
