Is it possible to lay a warm electric floor on linoleum under the laminate?

Hello. Is it possible to lay a warm electric floor on linoleum under the laminate? Linoleum lies on the screed slabs. To remove is problematic. Flat. Thank. Lena.

Hello, Lena! Before you lay the infrared film warm floor in the room, it is necessary to prepare the base. At the same time, the evenness of the base floor is checked. This procedure is performed using the building level. A slight deviation from the horizontal, a couple of millimeters, is allowed. If the floor in the room is flat and the old linoleum is difficult to dismantle, then the coating can be left. It is enough to clean from dust and debris.

In order to prevent heat loss, it is necessary, in accordance with the technology of laying the system of a warm infrared film floor, to use heat-insulating material, which is also produced in rolls (isolon, infraflex or penotherm). This layer will not allow linoleum left on a concrete screed to heat up.

When choosing a laminate, remember that not every coating is compatible with underfloor heating systems. For these purposes, manufacturers produce a specialized laminate, on the packaging of which they put a conditional icon. This coating is resistant to constant heating, the impact of which does not affect its appearance, as well as its service life.

In the instructions, the manufacturer indicates the maximum level of heating of the warm floor. This recommendation must be taken into account when setting the temperature limits for heating the surface on a thermostat.

What do manufacturers offer?

Some laminate manufacturers (for example, Pergo) are engaged in the production of underfloor heating kits designed for installation under the laminate manufactured by them. As a rule, in this kit are heating modules, temperature controllers, sensors.

The Norwegian company ALLOC offers customers a special ALLOC Heating System, in which the heating element is already integrated into the floorboards. Such a laminate is laid almost as well. The specificity lies only in the fact that before clicking on the aluminum lock, the adjacent heating elements are connected.
